| It's a boy... Another new arrival at the Elephant Safari Park, Taro - Bali |

The Elephant Safari Park at Taro, Bali is proud to announce the arrival of the first of three baby elephant due this year at the park. The baby female arrived at 2am on 15 March 2009 with a normal and quick natural birth that required no intervention or help. At birtj the lephant was 110cm long, 80cm high and weighed approximately 65 kilograms.
The baby elephant has been named 'jegeg', which in Balinese language means 'beautiful'. All the elephants at the Taro park are of the Asian Sub species from Sumatra, which is the world's smallest and most endangered elephant.
Two more babys are due at the Elephant Safari Park this year, one is due in April/May and the other later in 2009 around October /November. The successful breeding program was started two years ago and all pregnancys have been by natural mating with the parks dominant male 'Seng Wong', a 26 year old. The park is jome to 28 elephants. six of the being male.
